In late 2015 the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) publicly released its Reimagine Downtown Vancouver vision to the year 2040 that was shaped by over 11,000 participants, from all walks of life. A foundational aspect of the vision is the transformation of laneways and other public spaces as a means to support public life and the businesses within the DVBIA district.
